FAIRFIELD — It could have been much worse. It happened at 4:37 p.m. Thursday when a 2016 Isuzu dump truck speeds north on Greenfield Street with a full load of garbage. As it nears the Creative Minds Early Childhood Center, the full load begins to slide. The driver loses control of the truck, crosses the double yellow lines and veers to the right toward the childhood center. Instead of striking the building it makes contact with a large set of rocks a good distance from the center. No one — the truck driver or the few children and employees in the childhood center — were hurt.
