As metro Denver braces for another blizzard Wednesday, Xcel Energy is reminding customers how to deal with potential power outages.
The company urges customers to sign up for “My Account” on the Xcel website, where people can report outages online and receive updates through email, text or voice messaging.
Xcel customers can also report downed lines or outages by calling 1-800-895-1999.
“We urge customers to stay away from downed lines because they may still be energized and dangerous,” Xcel said in a news release.
In preparation for Wednesday’s storm, Xcel has mobilized extra crews throughout the state and set up dispatching centers in order to quickly employ personnel to affected power lines.
