A man and woman have been charged in the shooting death of a Golden man.
Joshua J. Polaske, 28, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 44-year-old Kristian MacLeod, according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
Polaske appeared in court on Monday, his birthday, and was also charged with distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a previous offender — both felonies — according to a news release. He also faces to two violent crime counts.
Co-defendant Laci Ellaine Barclay, 24, appeared in court on April 19, where she was charged with accessory to murder and distribution of a controlled substance — both felonies — the release said.
On April 13, deputies responded to the 800 block of Kilmer Street and found MacLeod suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died the same day.
Polaske is being held without bail at the Jefferson County jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled on May 15. Barclay’s bond has been set at $500,000. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled on May 17.
