UPDATE (June 11, 2019 11:12 a.m.):

Dorian Anthony Ross-Knox (24) of the 2900 block of Rayshire Road, 21230 was arrested yesterday morning for the attempted robbery and stabbing of a man in Hillcrest Park Sunday night.

Ross-Knox aroused suspicion when he reported being another victim of an attempted robbery at the park following the stabbing. Detectives determined that Ross-Knox was actually the suspect who approached the victim and another man and attempted to rob them at gunpoint. When the victim fought back, Ross-Knox pulled out a knife and stabbed him, then fled on foot.

Ross-Knox is held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing scheduled for later today. He faces the following charges:

Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
1st Degree Assault
2nd Degree Assault
2 counts Armed Robbery
2 counts Robbery
False Statement to Officer
False Statement to Officer with Intent to Cause Investigation

Original Release (June 10, 2019 3:52 p.m.):

The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a stabbing that occurred during an attempted robbery in Hillcrest Park last night.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, fought back when the suspect brandished a gun in the park shortly after 10 p.m. The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim at least once in the upper body before fleeing the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening wounds but is expected to survive.

Detectives continued their investigation through the night, during which a pellet gun was recovered from the area, located in the 700 block of 3rd Avenue, 21227, and a suspect taken into custody. The suspect’s identity remains confidential pending forthcoming formal charges. Additional details are expected to be released tomorrow.
