Forget the rainy, below-normal temperatures Denverites endured the past week. Denver is headed for a heat wave with temperatures climbing into the 90s by the end of the week.

The high temperature on Monday will be around 81 degrees, said the National Weather Service in Boulder.

And it’s only going to get warmer.

Temperatures will climb to highs of about 84 on Tuesday, 88 on Wednesday, 92 on Thursday and 91 on Friday, the NWS said.

There’s a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms on the weekend, but it will still remain warm with highs of about 91 degrees on Saturday and 88 on Sunday, forecasters said.
