Two people were rescued after being thrown while tubing on Clear Creek in Golden on Friday afternoon.

The two were tubing separately on the creek near Golden’s Clear Creek Whitewater Park kayak course when trouble arose, according to the Golden Fire Department.

“The first victim was rescued from the water a short distance away near the Billy Drew Bridge,” the fire department said in a news release.

The second victim was rescued farther downstream by a MillerCoors employee, firefighters said.

Both victims were taken to a hospital in fair condition, the release stated. Park rangers, Fairmount Fire personnel and MillerCoors employees assisted.

Clear Creek is described as running high and fast. Anyone on the water is urged to wear protective equipment — including a vest and helmet — and to use extreme caution.
