Drivers traveling southbound on Interstate 25 in Northglenn should expect significant delays this weekend as crews pave the highway, the Colorado Department of Transportation said in a news release.

The work will result in lane closures between 120th and 112th Avenues, the transportation department said. Crews are correcting a vertical height difference between existing pavement and new pavement on the mile-long stretch of roadway.

The roadwork will involve double-lane, single-lane and full closures over the course of the weekend.

Traffic impacts include:

Double lane closures on southbound I-25 from 120th Ave. to 112th Avenue/Community Center Drive:

  • 8 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday
  • 7 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday
  • 7 p.m. Sunday to 5:30 a.m. Monday

Detour: Drivers may continue on southbound I-25 using a single lane or detour using Huron Street to the west of the highway or Washington Street to the east, CDOT said.

Single lane closures on southbound I-25 from 120th Ave. to 112th Ave./Community Center Dr.

  • 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday
  • 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday

Full closure of the 120th Ave. on-ramp to southbound I-25:
