An adult male died Friday night after he was hit by a driver while crossing the street in Fort Collins, police said in a news release.

The crash occurred about 8:45 p.m. in the 200 block of West Harmony Road. Police said the pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was crossing West Harmony Road when an 81-year-old woman driving a minivan hit him. The man was not crossing at a crosswalk, authorities said.

The pedestrian was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies, where he was pronounced dead, the news release said. The driver of the minivan was not injured, and police do not suspect speed or alcohol to be a factor.

Fort Collins police are investigating and ask anyone with information to call Officer Ken Koski at 970-416-2229.
