There is a mostly sunny day ahead on Wednesday but some freezing rain tonight could make driving treacherous in spots on Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

After a high temperature of 53 degrees the mercury is expected to fall to a low of 28 on Wednesday night. The evening will bring a chance of drizzle and snow before midnight, followed by freezing drizzle between midnight and 2 a.m.

It won’t be cold enough for the streets to freeze, said Russell Danielson, NWS meteorologist. “There could be a little bit of black ice tomorrow morning on bridges and overpasses,” he said.

Clouds will greet residents on Thursday morning but skies are expected to clear before noon and the temperature should climb to a high of 52 degrees.

What remains of the week should be warm with a high of 65 on Friday.

Saturday’s temperature could top out at 70 degrees.
