UPDATE (December 20, 2019 12:56 p.m.):

Police have charged a suspect in the death of a man killed in a stabbing on Capella Court yesterday morning.

Booking photo of Carlos Alexander Chevez-AlvarezCarlos Alexander Chavez-Alvarez (37) of the 9800 block of Tailspin Lane, 21220 is charged with first degree murder and held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing scheduled for Monday.

Detectives learned that Chavez-Alvarez confronted the victim, identified as 32-year-old Denys Javie Hernandez-Martinez of the unit block of Capella Court, 21237, in the early morning hours yesterday over a previous dispute. Chavez-Alvarez cut and stabbed the victim, then fled the scene. He was arrested by Baltimore County Police Homicide Detectives around 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

Police Investigate Early Morning Homicide in Fontana Village

Police are investigating a homicide following an early morning call for a stabbing in Fontana Village.

Officers responded to the unit block of Capella Court, 21237 at 6:32 a.m. where they located the victim, an adult man, lying unconscious in the parking lot with traumatic injuries. Medics transported the man to Franklin Square Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The body of the victim will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death. Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit are on scene and ask anyone who may have additional information to call 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.
