Southwesterly breezes will usher in warmer temperatures under sunny skies Tuesday in the Denver metro area.

The high temperature will be about 61 degrees, said the National Weather Service in Boulder. Wind gusts up to 17 mph are expected. The low temperature will be about 17 degrees.

Light snow on west-facing slopes is expected in the mountains.

Sunny skies and west winds in Denver Wednesday will help drive temperatures even higher to about 65 degrees, the NWS said. Winds could gust up to 21 mph.

The high temperature on Thursday will be about 61 degrees under sunny skies. Winds could whip up to 22 mph.

Rain is possible early Friday morning beginning before 4 a.m. A mix of rain and snow will follow. Snow showers are likely, mainly after noon. The chance for precipitation is 70%. At night, a chance for snow will continue mainly before midnight. The low temperature will be around 28 degrees.

A gradual warm up will come on the weekend, when temperatures will rise under mostly sunny skies to about 50 degrees on Saturday and 57 on Sunday, forecasters said.
