One Less Gun: At about 1:48 PM on Friday, December 11, 2020, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Belvidere Street in Boston. While en route to the scene, officers received additional information that a female victim had been involved in a road rage incident with the male suspect who brandished a firearm. The victim provided a description of the suspect, the vehicle and stated that he fled on Massachusetts Avenue towards Huntington Avenue. Multiple assisting units arrived on scene and began canvassing the area when they observed the suspect’s vehicle traveling on Tremont Street towards Melnea Cass Boulevard. Officers followed the vehicle to the area of 716 Columbus Avenue where the suspect parked the vehicle and exited. The officers quickly approached the male, who began frantically looking for a way to flee the scene. Officers commanded the suspect to drop the item he was holding in his hands, to which he refused. The suspect fled from officers on Columbus Avenue where they gave chase. Following a foot pursuit and a brief struggle, the suspect was apprehended in the rear of 696 Columbus Avenue. An inventory of the vehicle prior to towing led to the recovery of a Beretta S.A. 9mm firearm loaded with eleven rounds of live ammunition. The firearm was located inside of a fanny pack within the center console of the vehicle.
Officers arrested Rashid Parham, 22-years-old, of Canton. Parham is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 3rd Offense, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession Firearm without an FID Card.
