INCIDENT #1: About 6:32pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) made an on-site firearm arrest following a traffic stop in the area of Talbot Avenue and Washington Streets, Dorchester.

While on patrol in the area of Darlington Street and Norfolk Street, officers observed a motor vehicle traveling with excessive tint. Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle at the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Norfolk Street. As the officers exited their cruiser and began to approach the vehicle, the operator began driving away. Officers returned to their cruiser, and followed behind until traffic forced the vehicle to stop on Epping Street. The operator, later identified as Shaquone Cazeau, 28 years old of Dorchester, immediately exited the vehicle, and began running across Washington Street towards Lithgow Street while holding the right side of his waistband.

Officers exited their cruiser and followed behind Cazeau as he ran down Lithgow Street. As the officers approached, one heard what sounded like a metal object hit the ground. The officer continued behind Cazeau, who ran up a driveway and jumped over a fence in the backyard of 27 Lithgow Street. The officer lost sight of the suspect as he made it over to Brent Street.

The officer broadcast a description of the suspect for the officers in the area. Responding officers observed a male matching the suspect description on Welles Avenue. As the officers approached, he took off running towards Harley Street. Officers were finally able to locate and apprehend the suspect in the rear of 112 Ocean Street.

After searching the area of Lithgow Street, the officers located a firearm at 9 Lithgow Street.  The firearm, a Taurus PT 145 Pro was loaded with (1) round of ammunition in the chamber, and (10) rounds in the magazine.

The suspect, Shaquone Cazeau, was placed under arrest and charged with Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Trespassing, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License. The suspect was also issued a MA Uniform Citation for Failure to Stop for a Police Officer and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.

Cazeau is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

INCIDENT #2: About 1:33am on Thursday, December 24, 2020, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an on-site firearm arrest in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Cheney Streets, Dorchester.

While on patrol in the area of Warren Street and Crawford Street officers observed a motor vehicle with excessively tinted windows traveling on Crawford without their headlights activated. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Cheney Street. Further investigation into the rear passenger, later identified as Michael Tabb, 24 years old of Hyde Park, revealed a firearm in his waistband. After a brief struggle, officers were able to safely remove the firearm and place Tabb into handcuffs. The firearm, a black Glock 43 was loaded with (1) round of ammunition in the chamber and (7) rounds in the magazine.

Michael Tabb was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Resisting Arrest. Tabb is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The operator/registered owner was mailed a MA Uniform Citation for Excessive Tint and Failure to Display Headlights and released. The front passenger was identified, and also released.

INCIDENT #3: About 2:27am on Thursday, December 24, 2020, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an on-site firearm arrest at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Richie Streets, Roxbury.

While on patrol in the area of Columbus Avenue and Centre Street, officers observed a motor vehicle traveling on Columbus Avenue at a speed greater than reasonable. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Bancroft Street. As the officers spoke with the operator of the motor vehicle, identified as Joshua Madison, 27 years old of Jamaica Plain, he immediately informed the officers that he did not possess a valid drivers license. The officers identified the other two occupants, and requested that everyone exit the motor vehicle. Officers observed the rear passenger, identified as Daquan Sparks, 27 years old of South Boston, glance down towards the floor several times. Officers focused their attention to this area of the motor vehicle, and observed what appeared to be a firearm underneath the front passenger seat. The firearm, a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson Beretta px4 Storm was loaded with (10) rounds of ammunition.

The operator, Joshua Madison, was placed under arrest and charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Madison was also issued a MA Uniform Citation for the offense.

Daquan Sparks was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm and Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License.

A third passenger of the motor vehicle was identified and released from the scene.
