About 1:18pm on Friday, February 12, 2021, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a Person with a Gun in the area of 3137 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain.
Officers were advised that there was a male at that location, wearing a red hoodie, gray pants and a black mask, in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, officers located a male, later identified as Jose Augostin Ferrer, 52 of Boston, fitting that description, inside of 3137C Washington Street. Further investigation into the suspects jacket revealed a firearm. The firearm, a Smith and Wesson Revolver, was loaded with (5) rounds of ammunition.
Ferrer was placed under arrest and transported to District E-13 for booking. During the booking process officers discovered (1) large plastic bag containing a brown powder believed to be Heroin, (24) small plastic bags containing a brown powder also believed to be Heroin and (5) ballistic rounds in the suspects property.
Jose Augostin Ferrer was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of Class A (Heroin), Distribution Class A (Heroin) and Trafficking Class A (Heroin).
Ferrer is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
