At about 3:22 PM on Monday February 22, 2021, members of the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force arrested two suspects on firearm and drug related charges following a traffic stop in the area of Centre Street and Wise Street in Jamaica Plain. The officers had stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation and were speaking to the operator, later identified as Victor Pimentel, 24, of Brockton, and the passenger, later identified as Jose Morales, 23, of Dorchester, when they observed several plastic bags containing numerous loose pills believed to be Xanax in plain view. Officers removed both parties at which time they located and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine from inside the vehicle.
The suspects were placed in custody without incident and will appear in West Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. Pimentel will face an additional charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute Class E Drugs.
