Members of the BPD’s Bureau of Community Engagement recently completed a virtual Teach Me to Fish Program, sponsored by the Lingzi Foundation. A total of nine families participated in the virtual cooking program from November 2020 to February 2021. The officers went grocery shopping, with gift cards donated by the foundation, for all the ingredients and delivered them to the families. All of the recipes were given to each family to make on their own, and then the families shared their experiences with each other during the virtual cooking session. The families made the following dishes: Tacos, Fried Rice, Chicken Parmesan, Holiday Cookies, Pizza and Chinese Dumplings. After each session, one family won a gift card for their pictures and/or videos of their cooking skills. Christmas gift cards were also donated by the Police Athletic League.
