At about 11:53 PM on Sunday February 28, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 arrested two juvenile suspects on firearm related charges after responding to a call for shots fired in the area of 35 Meadowbank Avenue in Mattapan. On arrival, officers observed two males walking away from the scene at a fast pace with their hands concealed. The officers stopped the males, later identified as a 15-year-old from Cambridge and a 17-year-old from Cambridge at which time they frisked both parties for officer safety. Both were then placed in custody on scene without incident. During the booking process, officers recovered a spent shell casing from inside the jacket pocket of the 15-year-old suspect.
Officers were unable to locate any victims or property damage at the shots fired scene.
The suspects will face arraignment in Dorchester Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to Wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.
