At about 4:48 PM on Friday March 5, 2021, officers assigned to the BPD Citywide Drug Control Unit along with members of the FBI Boston Metro Gang Task Force with assistance from the Randolph Police Department located and arrested Omari Peterson, 33, of Dorchester in the area of 1374 North Main Street in Randolph. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on an outstanding Federal District Court arrest warrant which was issued as part of an ongoing collaborative drug investigation. During the arrest process, officers recovered two plastic bags containing cocaine from the suspect.
Members of the Citywide Drug Control Unit and the FBI Boston Metro Gang Task Force then executed a Federal District Court search warrant for the suspect’s residence in the area of 106 Brunswick Street in Dorchester which had been secured by members of the District C-11 (Dorchester) Drug Control Unit. As a result, officers were able to safely recover a loaded .45 caliber Sig Sauer P220 handgun, a loaded .380 caliber Ruger LCP handgun and a loaded .357 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver along with several additional rounds of various caliber ammunition and an additional plastic bag containing cocaine.
On Saturday March 6, 2021, the BPD Citywide Drug Control Unit and FBI Metro Boston Gang Task Force continued their investigation in coordination with members of the Quincy Police Department after seeking and obtaining a Federal District Court search warrant for a rental storage container in the area of 671 Washington Street in Quincy. Upon the completion of the search, officers had safely located and recovered an additional six loaded handguns (Smith & Wesson M&P, Beretta 96, Glock 17, Glock 30, Ruger SR40, Ruger SP101), a large quantity of various caliber ammunition, several large capacity feeding devices including one capable of holding thirty rounds, a quantity of assorted prescription pills, 92 strips of suboxone, approximately $10,000.00 in U.S. Currency along with personal papers in the name of the suspect.
Of the nine total firearms recovered, it was later determined that five of the handguns had previously been reported stolen in New Hampshire. The officers noted that the suspect has an apartment in the Manchester, NH, area.
The suspect will remain in Federal custody until his initial arraignment in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts on numerous charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Multiple Counts), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition (Multiple Counts), Distribution of Class D Drugs and Receiving Stolen Property (5 Counts).
