At about 5:41 PM on Monday March 15, 2021, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested two juvenile females while recovering a loaded firearm after responding to shots fired in the area of 2400 Washington Street in Roxbury. The officers were standing in the secured parking lot of their District Station when they heard the sound of gunfire as one parked motor vehicle sustained ballistic damage in close proximity. The officers immediately sought cover while scanning the area for threats, unsure of the origin of the shots. A Shot Spotter activation was then received in the area of 43 Saint James Street, prompting an immediate response by the officers from the B-2 parking lot as well as additional responding units. On arrival, officers observed two female suspects, believed to be 15 and 16 years of age, fleeing the area on foot. As they fled, the younger suspect was observed discarding a loaded .40 caliber Glock 22 handgun equipped with a laser sight which was safely recovered.

Both suspects were placed in custody and will appear in Boston Juvenile Court on multiple firearm related charges.
