Investigation Update: On Saturday March 20, 2021, detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) executed a search warrant in the area of 110 George Street in Roxbury which led to the recovery of a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson SD40VE handgun along with approximately 81 grams of cocaine. The search warrant was sought out of Roxbury District Court as part of an investigation into a shots fired incident at the address which resulted in a firearm arrest.
The original facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 12:48 AM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 110 George Street in Roxbury, which resulted in the firearm arrest of a 37-year-old male from Dorchester.
Upon arrival officers observed the suspect quickly walking from the driveway towards the front of the home. While officers were conducting a CJIS query to identify the suspect they canvased the driveway where the suspect’s motor vehicle was parked and recovered a loaded Lorcin firearm and a plastic bag containing what they believed to be crack cocaine from under a bench next to the vehicle. The firearm contained one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He has since been arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
Detectives will now seek additional charges against the suspect, including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of Class B Drugs. This investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.
