At about 7:25 PM, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an on-site firearm arrest in the area of Warren Street and Crawford Street, Boston MA.

While on patrol in the area, officers observed a motor vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Crawford Street and Harold Street.

Officers activated their lights and sirens, safely stopped the motor vehicle and spoke with the driver, later identified as Robert Acosta, 23, of Roxbury. Officers performed a CJIS query and it was revealed that Acosta’s driver’s license was suspended. Acosta was given an exit order as he was subject to arrest for driving with a suspended license. Passengers were also asked to exit the motor vehicle.

Officers observed the front passenger, later identified as Joey Delossantos, 21, of Mattapan, stiffen up while trying to stand at which time officers observed what they believed to be the outline of a firearm. After a pat frisk, officers recovered a loaded Glock 43, 9mm with seven rounds in the magazine from Delossantos’ front pocket.

Robert Acosta was arrested and charged with Operating after Revocation/Suspension.

Delossantos was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without a License, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Numbers and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. They are both expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
