At about 5:25 PM on Saturday April 10, 2021, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) as well as District C-11 (Dorchester), the BPD K-9 Unit and the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Devon Alexis, 20, 0f Dorchester and a 17-year-old male from Dorchester on firearm related charges after responding to a call for shots fired in the area of 24 Normandy Street in Roxbury. Officers recovered numerous shell casings at the scene but did not locate any victims or ballistic damage. As the responding officers were canvassing the area, they located the two suspects in the area of 286 Columbia Road where they also recovered a discarded .45 caliber Taurus 1911 handgun. Both parties were placed in custody without incident after investigators were able to confirm their involvement in the incident.

Devon Alexis will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling and Attempted Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.

The 17-year-old male will appear in Dorchester Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to Wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling and Attempted Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
