About 5 years ago the District 14 (Brighton) Community Service Office added Franciscan Children’s Hospital to its annual Christmas drive to get toys and clothing to the patients and families.
This year during COVID, the D14 Community Service Office reached out and asked the Hospital if there was something in particular they needed. They stated they could use an iPad so that patients could communicate virtually with their loved ones due to visitation restrictions. The Community Service Office then asked the City of Boston Credit Union if it could donate an iPad. The Credit Union replied, saying they would like to donate 16 iPads. Not only will these iPads provide the kids at Franciscan with an opportunity to communicate and face time with their families, they will also provide entertainment.
