At about 9:53PM on Thursday, May 20, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 27-29 Withington Street in Dorchester that resulted in the firearm arrest of Detionne Moore, 30, of Dorchester.
Prior to arrival, multiple 911 calls were reported and witnesses stated they heard and observed two males arguing prior to the shots being fired. Upon arrival officers located once of the suspects, Moore, as he was walking towards Talbot Avenue coming from a parking lot at 36 – 40 Norfolk Street. Moore became immediately resistant towards officers by flailing his arms and attempted to flee the scene on foot. For the safety and security of all parties Detionne Moore was frisked and placed in handcuffs.
Officers recovered a 40mm Stoeger Cougar 8040F in the rear parking lot of 36-40 Norfolk Street. Officers also recovered one live round from the left pocket of Mr. Moore.
Detionne Moore was arrested and charged with: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500’ of a Dwelling and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
