Over this past weekend, officers assigned to the BPD District E-13 Community Service Office (Jamaica Plain), in partnership with the Worldwide Hope Organization, gave away twenty-five bicycles to youth in the Boston area.
Once the children were paired with bicycles and helmets, they were led through a series of warm ups and stretches before breaking into groups.
Some children were learning how to ride their new bikes for the first time. Stations were set up to teach bicycle safety and skills. As you can see...everyone had a great time! The children also enjoyed a free lunch in the afternoon.
