At about 3:07 AM on Friday June 11, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) made an onsite firearm arrest after responding to a call for an unconscious driver seated at the wheel of a motor vehicle in the area of Walk Hill Street and American Legion Highway. On arrival, officers located Davis Marvin, 35, of Hyde Park, now standing in front of his disabled motor vehicle, which had apparently moved and crashed into a nearby utility pole. As officers were continuing their investigation, they determined that the suspect did not possess a valid driver’s license. Officers then observed and recovered what was later determined to be a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P Shield handgun with an obliterated serial number from inside the vehicle.
The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (4th and Subsequent Offense), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of a Firearm with an Altered Serial Number and Operating as Motor Vehicle After Revocation or Suspension.
