At about 2:52 AM on Saturday, July 3, 2021, officers assigned to the District B-3 Anti-Crime Unit (Mattapan) conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and American Legion Highway and arrested Marshall Bean, 26, of Sharon, MA on Firearm and Drug Trafficking charges.

While patrolling the area of Columbia Road and Washington Street, officers observed a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officers conducted a traffic stop of the motor vehicle and made contact with the licensed driver. Officers observed the passenger, later identified as Marshal Bean, to be carrying a fanny pack in which he attempted to conceal underneath his feet. For fear of officer safety, Bean was removed from the motor vehicle and officers recovered a loaded Ruger LCP .380 firearm from Beans right pocket. The magazine contained six rounds.

Also recovered from Bean were thirteen individually wrapped plastic bags of a white rock like substance believed to be crack/cocaine (49 grams), two plastic bags containing 105 orange pills believed to be Adderall (47 grams), fifteen pills believed to be Oxycodone, a digital scale and $1790 in USC.

Marshall Bean was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Trafficking; Class B, Drugs (36 grams less than 100 grams) (2 counts) and Possession with Intent to Distribute, Class D, Drugs.  Bean is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester district Court.
