BPD in the Community: Over the course of this past week, officers assigned to the District C-6 (South Boston) Community Service Office participated in a number of events around the neighborhood:
Officers attended a ‘Peace Cookout’ at St. Monica-St. Augustine Catholic Church on Old Colony Avenue where they gave out toys to several deserving children.
Officers also took a group of young animal-loving adventurers to the Stone Zoo in Stoneham, MA, where they enjoyed a day of exploring the 26-acre facility.
They provided a tour of the District Station and enjoyed lunch with members of the Youth Leaders of the South Boston Boys and Girls Club.
The officers even found a window of pleasant weather to squeeze in a little basketball with staff members and participants of the South Boston Sports Club.
As things continue to get back to normal, our officers are excited for the opportunity to return to some of the pre-Covid, in-person activities that are an important part of our community policing model.
