At about 6:47 PM on Sunday July 25, 2021, officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) made an onsite firearm arrest of Alcibiades Suarez, 23, of Roxbury, after a traffic stop in the area of 28 Taunton Avenue in Hyde Park.
While on patrol, officers observed a motor vehicle travelling on Radcliffe Road with no left brake light and excessive tinted windows. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to conduct the traffic stop.
As the motor vehicle came to a stop, the operator, Suarez, immediately exited the vehicle. Officers gave several direct orders for the Suarez to get back in to the vehicle, in which he refused. Officers then asked Suarez to produce his drivers license, which he also refused. As officers attempted to place Suarez under arrest, he began to resist by fighting with officers. After several attempts, Alcibiades Suarez was safely placed under arrest for Failure to Submit and Resisting arrest.
During the inventory search of the motor vehicle, officers recovered a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P .380, with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine.
Suarez was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
Alcibiades Suarez is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
