At about 5:17pm on Sunday, August 1, 2021 Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), arrested Jerry Orelien, 35 of Dorchester following a traffic stop in the area of Harvard Street in Dorchester.
While stopped in traffic, Officers observed a vehicle with significant front-end damage. The Officers then conducted a CJIS query of the vehicle which showed the vehicle was bearing attached plates. As the Officers initiated a traffic stop and approached the vehicle, the passenger later identified as Orelien, attempted to flee from the vehicle on foot. While running from police, Orlien discarded a black fanny-pack that was strapped across his chest. Officers were able to successfully stop Orelien and for their safety placed him into handcuffs.
Officers recovered the discarded fanny pack that Orelien had thrown and located a SCCY CPX-1 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number, one (1) live round in the chamber, and two (2) live rounds in the magazine. Officers also located a plastic bag that contained what Officers believed to be marijuana and crack cocaine.
Jerry Orelien is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drug, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drug
Jerry Orlien is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court
