At about 8:10 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, Officers assigned to District D4 (South End) made an onsite arrest of Raihan Chowdhury, 26, Freemont, CA, following a radio call for a found weapon in the area of 55 Deerfield Street.

Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim, who stated that Chowdhury pointed a firearm at her and attempted to force her inside her apartment. The victim was able to disarm Chowdhury and ran for help.

Officers arrived on the scene, secured the firearm, and placed Chowdhury in custody without incident.

The firearm was determined to be a Ruger 9mm firearm, with one (1) round in the chamber, and five (5) rounds in the magazine.

Chowdhury is to be charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm without FID, Possession of Ammunition without FID, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial number, Kidnapping, Carrying a Firearm on School Grounds.

Raihan Chowdhury is to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
