At about 3:53 PM Thursday, August 26, 2021, Officers assigned to District B-3(Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of Tesla Street and Edgewater Drive in Mattapan. Officers were advised that a male on a scooter was in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, Officers observed a parked and unoccupied scooter with five (5) males standing near it. Due to the nature of the call all parties were frisked for weapons. Officers then searched a nearby wooded area where they discovered two loaded firearms discarded.
The first firearm recovered was a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver containing six (6) rounds of .38 caliber ammunition. The second firearm was Jennings .22 caliber firearm. Officers additionally recovered nineteen (19) rounds of .22 caliber rounds.
