At about 7:30 PM on Friday, September 3, 2021, Officers assigned to District B2 responded to a Shot Spotter Activation at 140 Stanwood Street.  As a result of an investigation conducted by B2 Detectives, Ewon Allen, 30, of Dorchester, was placed in custody for firearm offenses.

Officers from District B2 responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 140 Stanwood Street.  While en-route to the scene, Officers were provided a description of a male seen on Stanwood Street in the area of the shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers located a male, later identified as Allen, matching the description provided.  Officers then searched the area where Allen was seen and found a firearm in plain sight inside a vehicle.  B2 Detectives responded to the scene, recovered ballistic evidence, and towed the vehicle pending a search warrant.  Mr. Allen’s information was taken down, and he was released by Officers on the scene.

B2 Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant out of Roxbury District Court for the motor vehicle.  Detectives recovered a loaded firearm from the vehicle following the execution of a search warrant.

When Allen came to the police station to retrieve his vehicle, Officers took him into custody without incident.  The firearm was determined to be an unloaded Glock 9mm.

Allen is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Ewon Allen is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
