On October 6, 2021, Detectives Assigned to District A7 arrested Oscar Umana-Tejeda, 26, of Boston, for Aggravated Assault and Battery Dangerous Weapon that occurred on August 20, 2021, at the Mary Ellen Kennedy Greenway in East Boston. Umana-Tejada was arrested at 69 Paris Street East Boston.

Oscar Umana-Tejada is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.

 ORIGINAL INCIDENT:  At about 10:18 AM on Friday, August 20, 2021. Officers assigned to A7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a Person Stabbed at 170 Maverick Street, East Boston (East Boston Greenway).

Upon arrival, Officers located a female victim who stated that an unidentified male, unknown to her, approached her as she was jogging on the East Boston Greenway and attempted to stab her. The victim suffered minor lacerations from the attack. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, heavy, 5'3", wearing a khaki hat, red shirt with a clear plastic poncho over his torso, blue jeans and sneakers. 

Detectives assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) continue to review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and are urging anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact 617) 343-4234.
