At about 3:00 PM on Monday November 1, 2021, members of the BPD Fugitive Unit arrested Thomas Morse, 37, of Newton on firearm related charges in the area of Commercial Street and Hanover Street in Downtown Boston. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted an outstanding warrant sought out of Boston Municipal Court on multiple charges including Possession of Large Capacity Firearm (2 Counts), Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts), Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

The warrant was applied for and granted following an investigation initiated by detectives assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) after several loaded firearms were recovered inside a hotel room located at 100 Stuart Street on Thursday October 28, 2021. During their initial response, officers safely recovered an AM-15 rifle with a mounted scope, a Yugoslavia MOD 59/66 rifle with an expandable stock, a loaded .45 caliber Remington 1911 R1 handgun, two large capacity magazines, several rounds of ammunition along with other evidence leading to the application for the arrest warrant. The BPD Fugitive Unit then continued their investigation in coordination with members of the DEA and ATF Task Forces, resulting in the suspect’s arrest.

The suspect was placed in custody without incident and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
