At about 8:10 PM on November 22, 2021. Officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) were called to 35 Deer Street (Boys and Girls Club) in Dorchester for a report of Larceny From a Motor-vehicle. As a result of diligent investigation, Detectives and Officers assigned to District C-11 were able to arrest Thanh Cong Le, 50, of Dorchester on multiple charges.

Officers were advised that a vehicle belonging to a staff member at the Boys and Girls Club had a damaged window, and several items were missing from the car. The victim further advised that in addition to personal property stolen from the vehicle, gift cards intended for families in need, totaling approximately $5,500, were stolen.

On November 23, 2021, Officers were notified that a male matching the suspect's description was in the area again. Detectives and Officers assigned to District C-11 searched the area and eventually located the suspect, Thank Cong Le, on a bicycle in the area of 1246 Dorchester Avenue. Following a brief foot chase, officers took Cong Le into custody without incident. On his person, officers recovered various stolen items to include packages addressed to another person, three gift cards totaling $100, and a white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Cong Le is to be charged with Larceny from a Motor Vehicle over $250, Breaking and Entering to a Motor-Vehicle in the Daytime, Buying or Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Class B controlled substance.

Cong Le is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
